Description

Sexual and erotic storylines, hilarious humor, world of nature and animals – are the main subjects in which you will dive exploring her visual works. Written cues across the drawings are taking a key role in understanding Katerina’s world. An innocent image can become crude with a play on words, or an erotic picture will be followed by a casual sentence – her drawings are a mixture of the unexpected, they are linking together playfulness and sincere reflections.

About

Katerina Netupskaya was born in 1988 in Moscow. Since 2013 she has been based in Bali. She has a degree at the Moscow State University of Culture and Arts in cultural studies, social anthropology and history of arts. As a visual artist she is focused on illustrations and murals of minimalistic style. Her first drawings within this manner she has created in 2017. Being a self-taught artist, Katerina has developed her own way of expressing the ideas on paper – simple black line images are always followed by written sentences to bring into the drawing strong sense and meaning. Katerina has been a participant in group exhibitions in Canggu, Bali. She also had a solo show in March 2021. There are restaurants and cafes in town, decorated with her black and white style murals and exposing some of the original artworks.
