About
Metal, cotton, foam, 65 cm x 135 cm x 70 cm
This chair was designed especially for CUB by Bali based french designer C. Gavet
C.Gavet feels lucky enough to have grown up in an artistic family surrounded by art, and has an unconditional love for Art in all its forms.
A graphic designer by trade, her life journey has been reflected in her work. Photo exhibitions, architecture and interior design as well as furniture design slowly took up more and more space in her life, with everything in perpetual evolution, influenced by chance encounters and travels.
C.Gavet owned two architecture and interior design boutiques in Paris in the past; they specialized in ‘signature’ furniture from the 50’s up to the 70’s, as well as some decoration pieces. There was space for a cabinet of curiosities, as well as items coming from all around the world, in keeping with the idea of unique pieces, made by designers she loves and by herself.
C.Gavet knew and loved Bali, having traveled and worked with craftspeople on the island, she decided to settle inBali in 2020, she is currently working on opening a shop like the one she once had in Paris.
The ‘Mireille’ collection is a homage to her mother. The yellow settee reminds her of 70’s colours and weekends at her grandmother’s, whilst the burgundy one is reminiscent of the colours of Africa, which her mother so loved.
